Well I have been busy..not just getting things back into order after what's know and THE NEW YEAR EVENT but also getting a few paintings done for various clients who what something 'like' another one I have done. This can be a bit harrowing at times because one must walk a careful line in not repeating too great a likeness to the previous painting yet not departing either too much from the original.

The client wants the mood, message and manner of the other one yet doesn't want a literal copy.

So in I went with the same 'message' only a little later in the action-fortunately, I keep all my photos and that gave me my first point of departure.

The stretcher was 30 x 60 inches which was bigger than the original and that allowed me to 'stretch' the message.Now we cant depart from the colors so I went back to the palette I used previously. It was a bit weird as it was basically a color wheel in action-blue,yellow and red left to right with the action in the middle. That may have been one of the reasons it drew the clients attention-I must find that out! I had to hold to that color scheme anyhow.

I could go on explaining more but I think its just far enough 'off' to have its own presence.

But I WILL find out what drew their attention to this painting in the first place.
